When aluminium pigments are dispersed in either organic solvents or water, they form pastes. Aluminum Pastes are manufactured in both Leafing aluminium pastes and Non-leafing aluminum paste forms.
If the pigments are allowed to float on the solvent, they form a leafing texture which gives the silvery shine. If however, they are fully wetted out, they disperse to form non-leafing aluminum pastes. These have good anti-abrasive and anti-corrosive properties.
